This Dyke is a favorite walk for my sister, her country in the city so to speak. Recently the bears were foraging before winter so they won out. The colours in the grasses were what drew me to paint it.
Oil on gallery canvas 11x14 unframed $250.00 This scene was painted from a photo my Mom took on one of her walks. The Neaves Bridge spans the Allouette River. It was the colours and the absolute calm that appealed to me.
Oil on Board 8X10 framed $250.00 This painting was done in a field in West Edmonton which will soon be the location of a transit site. I love to paint outside; the light and camraderie. It was a warm, peaceful, August morning. I hope I captured that.
I love the strokes of orange and pink that landed in the trees on the left. I love the majesty of the Rockies but warmth is always on my mind. Maybe that was the inspiration.
Oil on Canvas framed 16 X 20 $500.oo Still on the theme of water, but back home in Edmonton, this park is one of my favorite places to paintout. A week ago it was ablaze with colour and now the trees have shed their leaves and the first snowfall is just around the corner. I love the soft lavender and ochre of the background trees in the fall.
This painting was explored first in acrylic, in a workshop with Greta Guzek. I loved the bright palette and more graphic imaging so much I decided to do a beach series. It is hanging in the 2008 AOP Show.
