8x10 Oil on Panel
This little barn is one of a matching pair on a small farm in Edmonton that has become surrounded by a bus barn, an ecocentre and a big box mall which somehow all adds to it's charm for me. I love that the farmer has steadfastly held onto it!
Happy New Year to all!

Clouds over Grassland
6x8 Oil on Paper/Birch Panel
The clouds are amazing here in early summer, a constantly changing show! I take a cazillion photos and then paint them through the winter on days like today.

Warm Path
Warm Path 5x7 Oil on Paper/Panel
This is the smallest of the paintings I've done on paper but definitely one of my favorites. The trees seem to line up in support of each other and the colours of the grasses were irresistable.

Clouds Over Prairie
Clouds Over Prairie 8x6 Oil on Paper/Panel Sold
This little painting was one of a number I did for Art in the Park this summer and the first one sold. I discovered Arches oil painting paper in May when Delta had it on sale and I had so much fun painting on it. I underpainted whole sheets in warm colours and then split the sheets. It started out as a lark testing a new medium and it was such a pleasure to paint on I've done a series of smalls. My favorite part of using it is how it grabs the paint randomly.
